"Knafeh, kunafeh, konafa", spelt various ways is a popular iconic Middle-Eastern dessert known to have originated in the Palestinian city of Nablus.
This ready-to-bake Turkish-style kunefe has two layers of buttery chopped kadayif—vermicelli-like filo pastry strands— and layered over a mild, stretchy cheese.
Add ground pistachios and rose petals for a finishing touch, and a generous amount of mildly fragrant syrup to ladle over before serving, as per the insructions.
Served with a delicious dollop of clotted cream or vanilla ice cream!
