On the website, the almonds are pictured in a very nice tin. I am fully aware I did not order the tin option but assumed this was some indication of a good level of presentation, even with the ‘pouch’ I ordered.
What arrived was a crude and nasty, stiff plastic pocket more suited to packaging meat! The only label is the company name. The plastic pouch had been posted in one layer of tissue paper in a very thin ‘jiffy bag’ allowing very little protection to the contents. The almonds have been much battered and squashed with a significant amount of the praline falling off in the ‘pouch’. I was charged £4.80 for p&p and I note from the posting label that posting cost £3.10 leaving £1.70 for packaging. Really?
This product has been so at odds with other items purchased from Yumbles where care has obviously been taken at all stages. Dessertville are presenting themselves as a premium brand but what I received was shabby, shoddy and really quite second rate!
The almonds tasted OK but are nothing special. Save your money!
