Up your roasties game & take veggies to a new level with our Epic Roasties & Veggies Dust! We all need to eat more veggies & using a good pinch of this blend on anything is the quickest way to turn up the flavour dial!
For the perfect roasties, par-boil for around 8 mins, drain & let steam dry for 5-10 mins. Don't miss this step: letting them steam dry is important & they'll start to become 'snowy' at the edges - this is massive flavour later! Add to a roasting tray with a drizzle of Rosemary & Garlic oil (or your favourite oil), turn them to coat & sprinkle with 1 tsp of Epic Roasties & Veggies Dust. Cook for about 30-40 mins at 220c, turning after 20 mins, so they look & taste awesome.
This is also a great way to make Brussels sprouts a hit any time of the year. Forget boiled, soggy, dark green sprouts - we've got a better way to cook them! Shred them nice & finely, add to a wok or frying pan with a tiny bit of butter, a splash of your favourite oil & 1 tsp of Epic Roasties & Veggies Dust. Cook for 5 mins on a fairly high heat, stirring as needed to stop them catching. We usually add a drizzle of Pomegranate Aged Balsamic Vinegar on them to serve, but that's up to you. This will be your new favourite way to cook them.
Dust onto halloumi before frying or grilling it or use to coat tofu before you fry it. You can either add 1 Tbsp to some flour & dust the food, or skip the flour completely & just dust the spice for even more flavour! This is an amazing blend that gives any veggies a gorgeous flavour.
This is our fave way of cooking tofu:
- 1 block of extra firm tofu, cubed & dried with kitchen towel
- saute for 5 mins, turning to brown on all sides
- sprinkle over 1 tsp of Epic Roasties & Veggies Dust
- finish baking in the oven for 12-15 mins to get crispy
- add to salads, noodles, rice or serve as a snack
This is so versatile - add a pinch to any roast veg, sweet potato wedges or stir fries; it's a great way to add flavour to a veggie chilli too. We even stir a pinch into mashed potatoes or smashed veg. Toasted cheese, stir fried kale - the list is endless! We've even been know to chuck a pinch on pasta to serve instead of parmesan.
The Nutritional Yeast is another ingredient that makes this blend shine! It’s essentially the vegan equivalent of parmesan & gives a slightly cheesy, nutty boost to anything. The polenta is there to deliver crispness & is a great way to boost roasties. Having both ingredients plus other spices & herbs in one pot makes this blend a one-stop flavour boost & the easiest way to eat more veggies & enjoy them!
