The Blowing Stone, Nettle & Blackberry, 70cl, 42% abv.
The fourth addition to the Ashdown series of 'The Blowing Stone' Range, handcrafted by Hawkridge Distillers in Berkshire. With the base of the 'Best English London Dry Gin', infused with tender young nettles and ripe blackberries creates this beautiful hedgerow gin.
Legend suggests that 'The Blowing Stone' was used by Alfred the Great to summon his West Saxon army to battle against the Vikings at the Battle of Ashdown in AD 871. To create this beautiful hedgerow gin, we infuse two important Saxon ingredients; tender young nettles used abundantly in Anglo Saxon and Viking dishes along with ripe blackberries which were enjoyed as a treat. The 'Brymbyl' bushes were used as a line of defence against invaders.
The fourth in the Ashdown series, alongside a London Dry and 2 additional flavoured gins; Wild Strawberry and Crabapple & Royal Ginger.
