Toffee Apple Chia Oats
Remember, remember the 5th of November! Many of you will be celebrating Bonfire night with fireworks, Catherine Wheels, Toffee Apples, Treacle and Parkin. But why not start off the festivities early with a delicious an nutritious breakfast: Toffee Apple Chia Oats!
Ingredients:
For the Oats
- 1 cup of gluten free oats
- 1 tbsp of chia seeds
- Half a cup of unsweetened almond milk (add more if desired)
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
For the Apple Topping
- Chopped apple slices
- 1 tsp of coconut oil
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
For the Toffee Topping
- 4 Medjool dates (soaked)
- 2 tbsp of tahini
- 1 tbsp of maple syrup
Method:
First prepare your toffee: Mix all the ingredients together in a blender and leave to one side while you prepare your porridge. Next, cook your apple slices in a frying pan along with the coconut oil and cinnamon and leave to one side while you quickly prepare your porridge. Once you have made your porridge, pour it into a bowl and add your toppings then devour!
