50g Tin of Chinese Iron Goddess Oolong Loose Leaf Tea.
This oolong (black dragon) tea is known as the Tieguanyin or Tie Guan Yin - the Iron Goddess of Mercy.
As a tea category, oolong sits between green and black - there are as many grades of oolong as there are fine wines.
Tasting Notes
The first infusion has a succulent sweetness with later infusions leading to green floral notes. Each time you infuse the leaves different subtleties are revealed.
Infusion Guide
We recommend using 2-4g of tea per 150ml of water.
For the optimum infusion, 'wash' the leaves first with boiling water (for 10 seconds) - then pour this away.
Then use the same, slightly cooled water for subsequent infusions.
Infuse for 1-2 minutes to your taste.
This Oolong can be infused up to 6 times.
Storage and Shelf life: The BBE of the sealed pouch of tea is 5 years. Once the pouch is open and decanted into the storage tin, we recommend drinking it within 6 months.
