Founded in 2015, Slab Artisan Fudge began as a cosy passion project. My husband Steve and I ran Bliss Ice Cream Parlour in Cowes for almost a decade, and during the quieter winter months, I decided to teach myself the art of fudge-making. It quickly became clear there wasn’t a well-known fudge brand on the island, and Slab was born to fill that gap.

After months of experimenting with recipes, we perfected our fudge and started selling at local markets, quickly discovering how popular it was. Over the years, Slab grew from a weekend market stall to a full-time business, attending major vegan festivals, local events, and expanding into wholesale both on the Isle of Wight and the mainland.

In 2018, we opened our first Slab shop, where all our fudge is still made by hand on the stovetop. Since then, we’ve grown steadily, developing a vegan fudge range, switching to all-natural flavourings, and introducing sustainable, plant-based packaging. In 2020, we sold Bliss Ice Cream Parlour to focus entirely on fudge, and invested in a larger industrial unit to keep up with online orders and wholesale demand.

Today, Slab operates from our East Cowes depot, supplying gift boxes, taster packs, fudge-dipped Belgian waffles, and our popular vegan fudge to customers locally and worldwide, including stockists as far as New York. Every slab is handmade with care, and we continue to innovate, attending markets, events, and festivals across the country.

Slab is more than fudge – it’s a labour of love, a family adventure, and a little bit of sweetness we’re proud to share with the world.
