A box with six gluten-free Chickpea Cakes, know in Portuguese as Pastéis de Grão-de-bico. They are a deliciously moist cake made with puréed chickpeas and ground almond, rounded off with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Chickpea Cakes have an earthy, slightly smoky taste and a soft texture, and an aftertaste of almond. They are authentic Portuguese pastries made using a traditional family recipe from the Portuguese region of Estremadura.
Certified gluten-free by the Portuguese Coeliac Association.
