Rock Rose Gin Pink Grapefruit Old Tom

Rock Rose Gin Pink Grapefruit

Dunnet Bay Distillers is the stylish, sustainable spirits company which created multi-award-winning Rock Rose Gin.

Rock Rose Gin Pink Grapefruit Old Tom won SILVER in 'Old Tom Gin of the Year' at the Scottish Gin Awards 2019!

A classic sweet Old Tom with a zesty finish. This extra special edition of Rock Rose gin derives from our popular ‘Design a Rock Rose Gin Label’ competition of 2016, which became the wonderful citrus-based Artists’ Edition.  As a very limited batch, the Artists’ Edition sold out very quickly and we were soon inundated with requests to re-create the fabulous gin.

We decided to bring it back as a fresher version using organic pink grapefruit peel, all lovingly peeled by our distillery team!  These are added to our botanical basket along and vapour infused along with all our traditional gin botanicals. It is then lightly sweetened with muscovado sugar.

As a softer gin, Old Tom is seen as the missing link between the heave Dutch Genever and the more modern London Dry Gins, and was once available in every bar in the country.  This historic drink is now being distilled for the modern palate, creating a sweeter and lighter gin for those less inclined to favour the more juniper-based dry gins.

Rock Rose Gin's wonderful flavour comes from the carefully selected combination of locally foraged botanicals.

Each botanical is meticulously chosen for its flavour properties, and the result is a truly excellent gin which uniqely reflects the Scottish Highlands.

Dunnet Bay Distillers are located on the beautiful bay of Dunnet in the very north of Scotland, and are passionate about creating incredible spirits which reflect the life and landscape of Caithness.

They slowly hand distill their spirits in their bespoke copper pot still, affectionately named Elizabeth.

Making the gin in small batches using a traditional handmade copper head along with a botanical vapour basket allows tremendous care to be applied, and so the best results can be achieved.

Each bottle is filled, hand-waxed, batch numbered and signed before it leaves the distillery.

As the Caithness botanicals are dependent on climate, the gin subtly changes year on year - the true mark of a handcrafted spirit, but it is always undeniably exceptional.
