Three easy ways to boost using cinnamon
Cinnamon is widely becoming accepted as a 'super-spice' known for it's unique flavour as well as being used to treat muscular spasms, stomach upsets, the common cold, improve appetite and generally help your immune system.
Here are three ways to quickly add cinnamon to any dish:
- Stir a teaspoon of cinnamon into some boiling water. Add a slice of lemon for some Vitamin C and flavour and you have the perfect morning drink. If you prefer other drinks, add a sprinkle of cinnamon to other drinks including coffee, hot chocolate or warm milk.
- Slice an apple and sprinkle a little cinnamon over them. The flavours suit each other perfectly and it's a delicious snack. Other ideas: sprinkle onto rice pudding if you want something a little more substantial.
- Remember cinnamon can also be added to savouries. Instead of adding Worchestershire sauce to your bolognaise, why not add cinnamon? Cinnamon works with any tomato based sauce and just adds an extra layer of falvour. Simply stir a teaspoon in while it's piping hot.
