3 BOTTLES SPARKLING WINE GIFT BOX
Because sparkling wine is not just Champagne, here we offer you three French Organic alternative options to the regarded fizz!
This is a hand-picked selection of three French sparkling wines, sourced from small, family-run vineyards in France. Imported directly from the winery, the wines are excellent quality and will be a welcomed wine gift or an addition to your own wine rack. All three wines are made following the Traditional Method, where bubbles are achieved during the second fermentation in the bottle.
In this wine box you will receive 1 x 75cl bottle of each sparkling wine from the following vineyards:
- Domaine De Bablut Crémant De Loire (Organic): located at the southern gates of Angers, south of the Loire river. Owned by the Daviau family since 1546, the vineyards cover an area of just over 50 hectares. In 1993, a biodynamic test in the vineyard lead to the conversion to organic farming of the entire vineyard in 1996. The grapes are picked by hand and there has been no artificial sprays or chemicals used in the vineyard. Made in small quantities. You will taste the difference in quality with fine bubbles.Pair this wine with starters. A selection of soft and hard cheese, smoked salmon and pâté would work well. 12.5% abv.
- Kuentz Bas Crémant D’Alsace (Biodynamic): This is a small family house founded in 1795 and situated south of Colmar. Kuentz-Bas has 10ha under vine, all farmed biodynamically. Aromatic finesse and elegance which gives it a captivating style. The aging brings complexity, a delicious and creamy style that remains fresh and airy. The mouth is tense with the liveliness of the chardonnay and vinous with the contribution of the pinot noir. This marriage gives it a distinguished style and a fine balance of gastronomy. Pair with a aperitif, hot puff pastries, certain desserts or on special occasions.
- Domaine Haegi Crémant d'Alsace Brut Rosé (Organic): A family vineyard of 10 ha which is one of the pioneers of bottling (since 1951). In the family, wine and love are intimately linked. Bakers in the 19th century, the Haegis flip-flop for the beautiful eyes of Marguerite Bronner, daughter of a wine-grower whom Charles married in second nuptials. Daniel Haegi is the third generation, he joined the estate in 1985. Daniel's motto is “feed the soil so that the soil feed the plant ”. The 2013 was the first organic vintage . Elaborated with Pinot Noir grapes and coming from the siliceous terroirs of piedmont of Eichhoffen. It presents an elegant robe. Its delicate bubble, its raspberry aromas, its fleshy and fruity mouth give it all its originality. 13% abv.
All wines are standard size 75cl bottles.
Savage Vines purchases direct from the vineyard and supports independent winemakers from around the world. Get out of the supermarket and into organic and bio-dynamic wine today!
Organic wines are better for the environment as the winemaker does not spray artificial herbicides and pesticides in the vineyard to control pests and weeds. Instead, the winemaker will use more natural methods like having ducks, geese and sheep to eat the weeds and position other plants throughout the vineyard which bugs and insects prefer to the wine grapes.
